This is a characteristic of the way Betfair settle their markets.
Betfair settle back and lays separately. So depending on your total market position your account may rise unexpectedly or fall as they settle one side or the other.
Because the account balance is a separate API call we deliberately do not call it very often, but it the call is made during the settlement process your balance may show an unexpected value.
